If you’re going to be doing the kind of intimate photography I do, you better be comfortable and happy! I love seeing you shine. And the best way for you to relax and be comfortable during your photoshoot is to get to know me even before we meet for a shoot. Building that connection is such an important aspect of portrait photography, and that’s why I do in-person consultations or Zoom calls to help build that trust. What better way is there to get to know each other?

Let’s Skip the Worry: Be prepared TO HAVE a lot of fun being photographed

Many of my clients feel worried about stepping in front of the camera. The not knowing what will happen aspect of being photographed can be worrying. One may even think that I pull teeth and cause pain. When in fact the opposite is further from the truth. A photoshoot is actually a lot of fun. My goal is for you to be captured as your most authentic self. 

This is why I have many communication steps in place to get ahead of anything that can cause you concern. What will you wear? Let’s look at your closet together or go shopping. Not sure what colors look good on you? I’ll help you do a color test. Not sure what location or backdrop should we use? Let’s create a Pinterest board and get some ideas together. I will leave no stone unturned and on the day of the photoshoot you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment of being pampered and taken care of.

Growing up I felt ashamed of being different. I have copper red hair and dyslexia and when I was little, kids laughed at me for being different. It took years of work to celebrate it instead of hiding it. Now, I’m on a mission to help other women do the same. Many women and men I photograph have a similar experience growing up. What I realized too is that being comfortable in your skin is the most freeing thing one can do, and that’s what people love about others in photos and otherwise. 

This is why I encourage stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying an outfit that you would not normally wear, or looking at yourself in the mirror in a way you never would have. I LOVE this part of the photoshoot process and there is nothing better than seeing a client’s reaction to their photos and knowing that they love what they see. This portrait is more than just a photo. I create portraits that feel real and deeply personal. This is not about perfection; it’s about celebrating the beauty of who you are. It’s about a portrait that will forever remind you that you are amazing and give you the courage to live the life of your dreams.
