Couples Boudoir Photoshoot

Let's Celebrate Your Love

One day I had a client come to my studio and talk to me about capturing a sexy boudoir portrait of her for her husband as a celebration of their 10-year wedding anniversary.

I love focusing on just ladies and giving them more confidence with gorgeous portraits of themselves, but as I always say, a woman should do that kind of a photoshoot for herself. Never as a way to seek the approval of someone else.

She has a career, she has children, and with her husband, they’ve been married for 10  years now. A normal family just like yours. And usually, we’d talk about a family portrait in this case, but she wanted something just for him.

So I suggested, ‘how about we do boudoir couples shoot? We capture a portrait of you, a portrait of him, and a portrait of you together?” She was ecstatic.

They have a special love, these two. They have been together for 10 years and the love is still very much there between them. And what great experience would this be for them as a couple? Being photographed is a great experience for any one person. To be able to share that with the one you love is a whole another level of fun.

“What a great idea,” she said. She was thrilled. And so we went to create and design exactly the kind of wall art series that would look amazing in their bedroom above their bed. See for yourselves:

We captured some classical portraits as well, of course. I always suggest doing 3-6 different outfits during one photoshoot. Not everyone is comfortable being dressed down and that’s totally ok. A boudoir photoshoot, to me, is not about being naked but it’s about focusing on your love for yourself or for each other using non-verbal communication.

But more about that here “Love Yourself with a Boudoir Photoshoot.”

With Covid 19 the boudoir genre is very popular and I’d love to include couples here as well. Why should our partners be excluded from such an incredible experience?

Here is a sample bedroom with a triptych wall art as it would shine on your wall. Do you want to see yours? Let’s schedule your own boudoir photoshoot.

PS: I will not mention their name to protect their privacy. I do have the couple’s permission to show these images.

About Allie Serrano

My name is Allie Serrano and I am the owner of Allie Serrano Portraits, LLC. I was born in the heart of Europe in the Czech Republic. It is a land filled with rich country, history, and romanticism, a place where things are handcrafted, one-of-a-kind art, heirloom antiques are created and celebrated. This world continues to influence me to this day. As a little girl, I loved playing dress-up with my sister. I grew up having read hair and I was bullied for that. So, it is not surprising that today as a portrait photographer I have a burning desire to lift the confidence in everyone I meet, to change the world through beautiful portraits, to impact the world around me, and to tell the stories of the most incredible people I meet along the way. I can’t wait to meet you and tell your story with a portrait 🙂
