Maternity Photoshoot

Your first official portrait with your baby

Maternity portraits are one of the most special types of portraits a mother can do with her baby. I’d love to inspire you with a maternity portrait and schedule a pregnancy photoshoot of you with your newborn child. Let’s talk about why should you get maternity portraits done, how you’d like to be photographed, when should you schedule your pregnancy photoshoot, and what if you already have other children.

Why should I have maternity photos done?

You and your child are creating a special bond. You are a mother. You love your child and will do anything for your baby. This portrait, a maternity portrait, will be your first portrait of you with him or her. When your child looks back one day, seeing a pregnancy photo of you will mean the world to him or to her. It will be a family treasure one day.

Plus, it’s a special way to celebrate YOU, the mom. Get pampered, get your hair and makeup done, wear a gorgeous gown or a dress, get your nails done, maybe even get a food massage, and have Allie Serrano capture gorgeous photos of you that you and your baby will never forget.

What is included in the photoshoot

What will the photoshoot look like? we offer two photoshoot options, the bigger and better of the two is what we call the full photoshoot experience. That’s where the pampering happens, and you’ll have plenty of time to capture anywhere from 2-6 different looks. We also offer a shorter photoshoot session option for those who want to come and ready to be photographed and want to get it done fast. Either option is available for you and you can read more about our photoshoot experience here.

When should I schedule my pregnancy photoshoot?

If you’re counting by weeks, schedule your session when you’re around 30 weeks pregnant. If you take maternity photos after your eighth month of pregnancy, your maternity might be uncomfortable. You want to avoid taking photos when your belly feels too heavy, usually after 35 weeks. Also, start planning your maternity photoshoot about a month or two ahead. We want to make sure you are ready for the photoshoot along with everyone who will participate.

What should wear for my Maternity portrait?

This is the fun part. We have dresses and gowns available for you in the studio so if you have absolutely nothing to wear, we got you covered. Also, Allie – the photographer and the owner of Allie Serrano Portraits – will personally be in touch with you to guide you throughout the entire process. She will help style you and direct the process so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

What if I already have other children?

If you already have other children and this would be your first time getting maternity portraits done with a professional photographer, some moms have expressed that their other children would feel sad that they don’t have their own maternity portraits. Why not then do a photoshoot with you, your unborn child, and all your other children together? I can see this being an incredible portrait you and your family will cherish.

If you have any other questions, let’s schedule a consultation and Allie will be very happy to personally answer any questions you might have.
