Choose Your Looks
Let's design how you'd like to be photographed
After reviewing the photoshoot experience process with my clients, one of the first questions I ask during a consultation is, “How do you want to be photographed?”
This question can seem daunting but it leads to a great conversation where we choose your looks for the maternity boudoir photoshoot.
Usually, we do anywhere from 3 to 6 looks in a luxury photoshoot experience. Each look can be different, and it ranges from a long gown that hugs your body celebrating your belly, to lingerie that covers any private parts of your body but still looks very intimate.
The goal is to capture a series of images varied enough to capture the different parts of you, and giving options some of which you can show on social media without feeling exposed. You can see below the range of different looks we captured during a recent maternity boudoir photoshoot with Dr Ali Noor.
You choose how intimate your photoshoot is
A maternity boudoir photoshoot is all about the love for your child in an intimate way. This does not mean, however, that you have to be dressed in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable. With my guidance, you choose your level of intimacy you are comfortable with. You can even be covered from head to toe and it still would be a very intimate maternity boudoir photoshoot.
For example, below is a maternity boudoir portrait with a client that was captured outdoors in nature. She is wearing a long dress but the portrait is still very loving and intimate. I will guide you every step of the way.
Tips for Preparing for a Maternity Boudoir Photoshoot
Preparing for a maternity boudoir session involves thoughtful planning to ensure a comfortable and empowering experience.
Start by selecting outfits that make you feel confident and beautiful—soft, flowing fabrics, lace lingerie, or even a simple draped sheet can highlight your curves and create an elegant look.
The luxury photoshoot does include professional hair and makeup to enhance your natural glow and most clients utilize this service because they want to feel pampered and relaxed during the photoshoot.
Choose a photographer experienced in maternity boudoir who understands how to create a relaxed and supportive environment.
Communicate your vision, discuss poses, and share any personal preferences to tailor the session to your style.
Finally, stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and embrace the experience with an open mind and positive attitude to truly capture the essence of your journey to motherhood.

Things to Consider When Planning a Maternity Boudoir Photoshoot
Some things to consider when planning a maternity boudoir photoshoot:
- She is usually 7-8 months pregnant when she is being photographed so she may feel uncomfortable and may not be able to do certain poses
- The expecting mother may not have as much energy so I usually move faster during each set giving her more time to rest in between.
- It is important to plan ahead with this kind of a photoshoot. Sometimes things happen, and you may miss the moment. Schedule her sooner rather than later. Once she is not feeling well and is too uncomfortable, it may be too late.
- It is important for her to be comfortable. Don’t put her in heals if she can barely stand in them. Ensure that she is comfortable every step of the way
