Let’s talk about Why I became a Portrait Photographer. My name is Allie Serrano and I am a professional portrait photographer in Tampa Bay, Florida. I have over 18 years of experience. I am world-known and I have been voted as one of the best portrait photographers in the state of Florida.
Who would have thought, that the thing that brought me so much pain would be the source of my biggest strength one day and give me the ability to change the lives of others?
I was born in the Czech Republic, near Prague, in the heart of Europe. It is a very historic part of Europe filled with many castles and architectural icons. I love the romantic aspect of the Central Prague. If you ever visit Europe, I highly recommend visiting Prague as well. I still get inspired by it every time I visit.
Why I became a Portrait Photographer: Bullied As a Child
When I was little, I was bullied for having red hair. Other kids laughed at me and called me names for being different. For many years I thought I did something wrong and this changed the way I saw myself. For years, I thought I was not good enough.
But over time, as I grew up, I started to see things for what they really were. I realized that it is a part of being different, but it does not make me a bad person. I also started to see other people who were bullied as well and experienced a loss of confidence because of this. This realization along with my best friend passing is the reason WHY I started my portrait studio.
Why I became a Portrait Photographer: The Passing of My Best Friend Jenanne
Years later, in 2016, my best friend passed away from a brain aneurysm. Her passing impacted me in a big way. I never would have imagined that she would pass so young. It is also one of the frames that will always remain empty on my wall because I didn’t take the time to capture a portrait of her. It also made me realize that life is short and I finally saw that I need to start living my dream.
So, as an homage to my best friend, later that year I started my business and became a portrait photographer. I truly enjoy lifting the confidence in both women and men. I don’t want anyone to feel not good enough. Capturing the best possible portrait of them is very important to me. What if this is the last one they ever take?

The mail goal as a portrait photographer for me is to capture a portrait of you that is filled with your soul and essence. I want this to be the one that helps you shine and gives you confidence to live the life of your dreams.
